Celebrating Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Legacy

Privileged to stand next to a Giant of a man whose passionate advocacy and rhetorical flourishes I have repeatedly fallen short in mimicking as a trial lawyer and while mentoring kids - The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King’s likeness was brought to life by New Jersey elementary art teacher Lauren Mandal and her students during the Bergen County Executive’s celebration of “African-Americans and the Vote.” The event celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the 15th Amendment (voting rights for all races) and the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment (voting rights for men & women).

This educator’s piece is appropriately entitled: “The kids of We The People – Engage, Embrace, Engage.” Well done!

Happy 92nd Birthday, Dr. King!
