Roosevelt Jean, Esq. Princeton University Title IX External Advisor

Roosevelt Jean, Esq. adds Princeton University Title IX External Advisor to the firm’s public service work on behalf of victims. Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments prohibits sex-based discrimination (such as quid pro quo sexual harassment, hostile environment, and sexual assault) in education programs receiving Federal funding.

Pursuant to The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, “If a party does not have an advisor present at the live hearing, the recipient must provide without fee or charge to that party, an advisor of the recipient’s choice, who may be, but is not required to be, an attorney, to conduct cross-examination on behalf of that party.” 34 C.F.R. § 106.45(b)(6)(i) 34 CFR § 106.45(b)(6).

In this role, Roosevelt aids and guides students bringing claims under the Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy or the University Sexual Misconduct policy. Roosevelt looks forward to continuing to represent victims with dignity, sensitivity, and zealous advocacy.
